Who This Assessment Supports
Designed for autistic individuals, people with learning disabilities, and others with complex needs where challenging behaviour arises from distress, trauma, or unmet needs. We use the definition by Emerson & Enfield (2011): behaviours likely to limit or deny access to ordinary freedoms and opportunities.

What’s Included & Our Assessment Process
Phase 1: Structured Interview (2 hours)
We conduct an in-depth, person-centred interview with key stakeholders—including family members, carers, and professionals—to explore current challenges, contributing factors, and triggers.

Phase 2: Analysis & Review (2 hours)
Using the Essential 8 Barriers framework (from McGreevy’s Essentials for Living) alongside the Escalation Cycle framework, we assess environmental, relational, and other factors impacting wellbeing to develop targeted, actionable recommendations.

Comprehensive Report
A clear, evidence-based report containing practical and immediate recommendations is prepared and delivered within 5–7 working days following the assessment.

What’s Included & Our Assessment Process This assessment includes everything in our Core Assessment with the addition of:

• Two Direct Observations: Structured observations of the individual in their natural environments (e.g., home, school, residential setting, or community). This allows us to witness behaviours, interactions, and environmental factors first-hand.
 • Deeper Analysis: We integrate the insights from our in-depth interviews with the data from our direct observations to create a more comprehensive and holistic picture of the individual's needs.
 • Extended Recommendations: The comprehensive report includes more detailed and tailored recommendations based on our combined analysis, providing you with a robust framework for positive change.
